About Me

I started swimming competitively at the age of six and continued through my collegiate years. Throughout my swimming career, I’ve had over a dozen coaches. The variety of personalities and the diverse perspectives gave me quite a broad range of experiences, knowledge and wisdom to draw from when I transitioned into the coaching world.

During my time working towards my masters degree in exercise science, an opportunity presented itself to become a part time assistant coach at Amherst College. That part time experience turned into a full time career. Over the next 26 years, I found myself moving up from division-3 (Amherst College, Austin College), to the division-1 mid-major level (US Naval Academy, Colgate University) and eventually a “power-5” athletic program in the University of Florida.

Early on during that journey, a unique opportunity presented itself to work with legendary coach, Jim Steen of Kenyon College at the Total Performance Elite Sprint Camps. This experience set the foundation of my experience and curiosity in the sprinting arena. I continue to headline the Elite Sprint Camps, which commonly has an international draw, and has produced numerous Division-I All-Americans.

Throughout my time working at the University of Florida, I’ve worked with all swimmers and all training groups. However, I was always tasked with taking care of the sprinters in particular.

Starting in 2023, I have been coaching 1-on-1 sessions with individual clients using multiple cameras for video feedback. I work with age-group swimmers up to the Junior National and National level, collegiate swimmers, professional swimmers, master’s swimmers and even triathletes.

By working with a range of ages (camps through college ranks/pro’s) and abilities (age groupers through world-record holders), I’ve had to refine my coaching and teaching style and skills to adapt to the level of swimmer that is in the pool working with me at that time. I understand that each person needs to find their own unique path to success. I am confident that I can help you find your path to success!

Bio

Steve Jungbluth is the former Associate Head Coach for the University of Florida Gators. In his 12 years at UF, Jungbluth specialized with the sprinters, but he coached every group as evident when he received a "shout out" from 2020 Olympic Gold Medalist Bobby Fink after winning the 800 Freestyle with a final split of 25.93 seconds.

Coach Steve’s most decorated protégé, Caeleb Dressel, holds World, American, and NCAA records, but his influence on swimmers extends further. Steve helped the Gators to 10 SEC titles and multiple top 3 finishes at the NCAA Championships. He has mentored both men and women in all four strokes and the IM and even impacted the 2020 Olympic 1500m Champion, Bobby Finke, Natalie Hinds, Kieran Smith, Eric Friese, Elizabeth Beisel, Adam Chaney, and many more NCAA Champions and Olympians.
